A sweet cardamom and saffron-based milk dessert, made simple! These rasmalai dessert shots take just a fraction of the time as the traditional version of this popular dessert.
Rasmalai is my all time favorite indian dessert; but it's often something that people consume at restaurants rather than at home because it can be quite time consuming and arduous to prepare. So, I sought out to make an instant version. that's done in under 10 minutes! Trust me, you will not be disappointed in this recipe - it's all the yummy goodness of rasmalai without any of the fuss.
12 oz can of evaporated milk
2-3 tbsp of sweetened condensed milk (depending on preference of how sweet you want it)
2 cardamom pods
5-6 strands of saffron
1 tbsp of crushed pistachios
Simply add all of your ingredients to a heavy-bottom pan and simmer on low heat for about 7-10 minutes. It is crucial to stir continuously to prevent the milk from sticking to the bottom and burning.
Pour your mixture into your dessert shot glasses and cool in the fridge for a few hours.
Garnish with whipped cream and crushed pistachios.
